Spokane’s Youth Need us Now

Did you know we are Spokane’s only faith-based youth center serving 11- to 19-year-olds in downtown Spokane? Every week, we have the chance to reach teens before addiction, homelessness, or hopelessness take hold.

This means the faith community here has a rare and powerful opportunity—to reach teens before their lives are ravaged by sin —and instead introduce them to the love of Christ.

Recently, I’ve been overwhelmed—in the best way—with reminders of God’s faithfulness to YFC over the years.

  • I spoke with an 85-year-old supporter who has been faithfully involved for over 40 years.

  • At Shine 104.9’s ShineFest 2025, I met people who told me YFC shaped their lives more than a decade ago.

  • At a nonprofit networking event, I met a young man who said YFC gave him a safe place, hope, and belonging during a critical season.

These conversations are more than encouraging stories. They are living testimonies of nearly 70 years of God’s provision through Spokane YFC—and they are a call to action.

Psalm 78:4-7 says: “We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord… so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born… then they would put their trust in God.”

This is our calling and our passion: to stand in the gap for Spokane’s youth so they might trust God with their lives and their futures.

Here’s how you can help:

  • We need 15 churches in our city to commit to praying with us regularly and supporting our events with volunteers.

  • We need 50 people to commit to $50/month, ensuring we can continue to be a place of hope and transformation.

Will you join us in shaping the future of Spokane’s youth—for the next generation and beyond?

This Month’s Praise & Prayer Requests:

  • PRAISES
AgWest Support – We’re thrilled that AgWest is supporting our efforts to address food insecurity and help our students develop healthy relationships with food. Pray for our garden—plants, apple trees, and all—to flourish and become a joyful hub in the Hillyard community. If you have ideas or wisdom to share, we’d love your input!
Spokane Prays – We were honored to host a 12-hour prayer event in partnership with Spokane Prays. It was a powerful time of unity, and we’re already looking forward to the next one.
Tristan’s Baptism – We celebrate with our student Tristan, who recently took the bold step of baptism. Praise God for this new beginning!
  • PRAYERS
Fall Fundraiser – Pray for favor, open hearts, and a strong turnout as we prepare for our fall fundraiser.
Mental Health Conference – Please pray that our “Calm in the Chaos” conference fills up and makes a lasting impact on all who attend.
For Mica – Pray for motivation, healing, and hope as Mica navigates homelessness. Ask God to meet his needs and draw him into His love and care.
Volunteers & Staff – Pray that God would bring passionate, committed volunteers to our team. Pray also for wisdom and grace for our staff as they lead and support those serving.
Lost Students – Most of all, pray that the joy and truth of Christ would become irresistible to the students we serve—that they would come to know the life-transforming power of His Spirit.

This summer, we are praying every Monday, starting at 12 P.M. ! Please email us for further information.
