The Safe Learning Program offers Spokane's under-resourced youth a place to complete their distance-learning in a supervised and structured environment.

About the Safe Learning Program

When Spokane Public Schools announced that they would begin the school year with distance learning, our thoughts immediately shifted to the hundreds of kids in the Spokane area who do not have home environments that can support distance learning.

While we cannot help everyone, Spokane Youth for Christ decided to open a space that provides a stable learning environment to aid in the educational success of under-resourced youth in Spokane.

The Safe Learning Center provides a safe, santitized, and supervised space where each student has their own desk with a lamp and planter filled with greenery. We also provide lunch for each student, and can provide transportation on an as-needed basis.

The Safe Learning Center is opens Wednesday, September 16th and will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 3:20 pm (excluding school holidays).
