Volunteers Needed for the Safe Learning Program

About the Safe Learning Program

When Spokane Public Schools announced that they would begin the school year with distance learning, our thoughts immediately shifted to the hundreds of kids who do not have home environments that support distance learning.

While we cannot help everyone, Spokane Youth for Christ decided fill some of the gap by opening a space that provides a stable learning environment to aid in the educational success of youth living in under-resourced neighborhoods.

This is where you come in!

We need 20 volunteers to work at our Safe Learning Center. The Safe Learning Program offers a learning space for kids who do not have a home environment conducive to distance learning. Volunteers are expected to monitor distance learning and ensure that CDC COVID recommendations are followed. We need at least four volunteers a day, Monday – Friday.

The Safe Learning Center opens Wednesday, September 16th. There is a mandatory training the week before the center opens. See details below.

Don't have time to volunteer, but want to help?

If you want to help with the Safe Learning Program but don't have time to volunteer, join our prayer team. As Oswald Chambers once wrote, "Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work." Your prayers are important!
