Volunteer Testimonies

“I have been living at the YFC Women’s Ministry House for two years and loving every God-filled moment of it. It is a pleasure to live life with other Christian women and live in close community with the Men's House. We are a support system for each other and they have all been a great encouragement to my growth as a disciple of Christ. It is a great privilege to work and live in the same community as the kids that attend YFC and the people who volunteer there and I would recommend it to any brother or sister who is willing to truly pour themselves out for the sake of God's Kingdom.” – Ministry House Intern

“When I moved to Spokane in 2004 to attend Whitworth University (then Whitworth College), I don’t think I’d ever heard phrases like “urban ministry” and “low-income community” used in any relevant context.  I wanted to pursue a degree in theology and maybe go into pastoral ministry.  My connection with YFC happened because of a friend who lived in the women’s ministry house who persuaded me to live there because of its proximity to another ministry, Cup of Cool Water, where I was already volunteering.  I moved into the ministry house mostly for reasons of convenience, and discovered a whole additional calling on my life that has now lasted for three years and is continuing into a fourth. Living in West Central and volunteering with YFC has massively expanded my understanding of the gospel and its implications for how we live as followers of Christ.” – Ministry House Intern
