Shane Thompson Bio

Director of Unified Underground

Shane was born in Huntington New York and moved to Spokane at a young age.  He attended Spokane Falls Community College for their Audio Technology program then spent some time in New Zealand attending a Snowboarding discipleship training school with YWAM learning about ministry in 2009.  He grew up in a biblically sound home with two amazing parents Mark and Barbara as well as his best friend and brother Chad.  His family’s love for God, their unconditional support and his long-time involvement with Young Life in many ways set him up for a life of full time ministry.  He married his wife, Alicia, in 2011 and shortly after came on staff as the Program Director with YFC in the Hillyard neighborhood. Shane has recently stepped into a brand new role as Director of Unified Underground, YFC's newest program that aims at building relationships with subcultre youth.

Shane is passionate about sharing the love of God through three specific lenses: Youth ministry, Music and Snowboarding.  He has always been aware of the leadership potential God had placed in his life at a young age and is grateful he gets to now share that with others in YFC. Shane would define his Job by the Greek word Sunesis: the flowing together of rivers.  God has creatively allowed a platform for Shane to utilize his passion for youth ministry, creativity in music and his love of the snowboard and skateboarding culture through YFC.  On a daily basis he gets to use these skills to share the love and freedom of God with young people living in some of the toughest places in Spokane and empower his leadership team live out their God given potential.

Any spare time Shane gets he loves to spend time with his wife Alicia and kids, Jude and Sailor!  He loves investing time in the community of people God has placed in and around his life, spends much time Snowboarding in the winter and loves to dream big with a nice cup of coffee in his hand!
