Kris Grant Bio

City Life Director / Hillyard

Kris grew up and lived in the Seattle area for 25 years before moving to Spokane to be on YFC Staff in November of 2014. His walk with Christ began in 6th grade at a Younglife camp on the Oregon coast, and with the support of his family and friends, has pursued a life of following Jesus and youth ministry. Kris served as both a volunteer and staff person with Younglife in Lake Stevens, WA for 10 years, and after graduating from Seattle Pacific University in 2012 with a Bachelors Degree in History and Secondary Education, felt that God was calling him to put his plan to teach history on hold, and pursue a full time career in ministry. Two years later that call came to fruition in the form of a position with Spokane YFC.

Kris is passionate teaching and giving students the opportunity to look beyond their current situation and dream about what direction they want their life to go. His goal is to guide and walk alongside students as they learn what it means to follow Jesus, but also help them fulfill their other needs and desires along the way. He believes the the holistic development of the students he works with is an integral part of their transformation into lifelong followers of Jesus.

Kris’s currently serves as the Hillyard Youth Center Director as well as YFC’s Out-of-School Suspension Specialist. This unique blending of roles allows him the opportunity to use his gifts and abilities to both educate and motivate the students he works with, and feels blessed that his position allows him the opportunity to be with students every day and live life with them.

In his spare time, Kris enjoys being outside and experiencing the beauty of God’s creation. He does this through hiking, camping, and snowboarding, and keeps a backpack ready full of gear just in case just in case he has the opportunity to go on an adventure. He also enjoys listening to and playing music, is passionate about good movies, and loves to work on his Jeep.
